Earth Day April 22, 2008
11. April 2008 by admin.
With Earth Day just 11 days away I have decided to post a few thoughts on what average college student can do to help save our planet. While I know everyone takes the time to care on this one day, these ideas are one that can be carried on throughout the year.
- Print Less!
- Instead of driving to school walk, carpool, or take the bus
- Recycle
- Buy locally produced goods

First real taste of snow in the Souther Tier
19. November 2007 by admin.
Well we finally had what I would consider the first real snowfall. And what better way to celebrate it than to blog a bit about it. Only a few more weeks and there hopefully will be enough snow to get some skiing in. I forgot how much nicer this area looks when it snows. It makes up for all the dreary rainy days in november. Now if it could only stay cold enough for the snow to stay……
BU - Law School?
17. November 2007 by MrBobC.
BU is apparently planning on opening up a law school, joining UB and CUNY. This is a great idea because it adds to the availability of law schools at a decent price as well as being a midpoint between UB and CUNY. Having a law school at Binghamton will help keep people here for their education, as in fall 2006, 221 BU students were admitted to law schools, thus leaving Binghamton University. If BU had a law school, we could retain (I would hope) most of those students and get students from other colleges who have heard of Binghamton University, this most prestigious of public universities in New York. Of course, everything is still just talk and no real planning has been done. Although it is a magnificent idea, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.http://pressconnects.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071117/NEWS01/711170330
Our Local Astronaut, Doug Wheelock
7. November 2007 by MrBobC.
Life in Binghamton. Oxymoron? You be the judge. I’m Bob Sea, and I am enrolled in Binghamton University’s MBA program. We have some interesting things in Binghamton (and the surrounding areas). For instance, we have Doug Wheelock. Doug is an astronaut from Windsor, NY, near Binghamton. He arrived back on Earth today from space and is very safe. I will be doing a tribute to Doug, as my father and he were friends some years ago. Said tribute will be held at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, NY at 6:15PM on Monday, November 12th in front of JCPenney’s. The tribute will include a newly-fashioned song for the occasion, “Where Else But In America” and will be sung by me, Bob Sea, and the 4th and 5th grade Rainbow Chorus of the CR Weeks Elementary school (where Doug went) and will be telecast live on the WIVT Channel 34 news. Come on down and show your support for our local astronaut! More details on my website, http://www.bobsea.com. Doug Wheelock
